Brody and Cheyenne

Helping animals through enrichment. We design, build, and deliver enrichment devices to zoos and aquariums that have animals in human care, utilizing technology and advanced engineering. Animal Enrichment Systems (AES) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit . We are 100% volunteer-operated, so all donations go directly to providing enrichment to the animals that need it.

Brody and Cheyenne

Since the bear habitat perimeter fencing is tall, we had to design a way to get the food dispensed over the fence. This tube can extend up to 12 feet. The blower is housed in a sound suppression compartment.
This EED will be located at the Brevard Zoo’s Black Bear Habitat. This EED will have a freestanding motion sensor outside the habitat’s perimeter fencing. When the bears walk near and activate the sensor, the food/snacks will be blown into their habitat. This will encourage natural foraging behavior

Thank you to our friend, George, for “being the bear”!
We are going to design and build an environmental enrichment device (EED) for the Brevard Zoo’s Florida black bears!
The Brevard Zoo is home to two-year old Brody and five-year old Cheyenne. Brody and Cheyenne will be able to choose when they want to interact with their EED. This EED will feature a motion activated sensor that will turn on a blower that will scatter Zoo approved food and nuts into their habitat which will encourage their natural foraging behavior.
More to come soon!

This #GivingTuesday we are raising money for Animal Enrichment Systems Inc and your contribution will make an impact, whether you donate $5 or $500. Every little bit helps. And on GivingTuesday Nov 30, Meta will match $8 million in qualifying donations. Thank you very much for your support.

Our current Environmental Enrichment Device is an aviary cart for ZooTampa. This cart will be able to be brought around the zoo so visitors can meet the ambassador birds. The cart will have a water spray feature, a seed dispenser and will play music/and or bird chirps. The birds will be able to choose what enrichment they would like by either pressing a button or flipping a small switch (still in design phase)
Birds/Aviary Enrichment
This environmental enrichment device (EED) will consist of a metal cart that can be moved about ZooTampa to showcase their animal ambassador birds.
There will be perches for the birds made from pvc and then covered with a type of epoxy used in animal habitats. The birds will be able to activate recessed buttons to choose a water spray, sound/music, breeze from a small fan or a food dispenser. Don had to learn how to weld to build the cart.
Here is a short video showing how “Ella Phun: works. We were testing the water and apple features in our driveway before delivery to ZooTampa in Spring 2019. A very special thank you to Peter for editing the video and to Kristin for naming the EED.
We are happy to let everyone know that the Donate/Pay Pal Button works again
